catching up...

So every few days or so I get a blog post from Christine filling us in on everything going on in Korea... and I LOVE IT!! I never thought that I'd enjoy getting mass postings about Christine's life, but I think it's because it makes me feel like I'm an active part of her life... even though I'm not... and I'm across the Pacific from her.

So... I'm horrible about calling people back or just calling to call (I don't know why but I'm tired of the phone). So, I'm going to try doing this blog thing and then you can all keep up with me. And if you don't want to hear about me (or Adam), then you can just delete the email. =)

A quick summary of the last few months: I got a new job; I've started gardening; we finished painting the house; Adam's going to start ACSC.

So, I quit my job as Compliance Officer for the debt settlement company I was working for and took a job working as an Academic Counselor for University of Phoenix. Yes... I know that they have nothing to do with each other; but in fairness, none of my jobs have had anything to do with each other!! I love learning about new industries and learning about educational institutions is exciting so far. I have a completely new found respect for UPX and their education. I fully admit that I used to think that it was a diploma mill... but only like 65% of people graduate and their requirements for graduation, attendance, gpa, etc. are strict!! Plus, with this job, I'll get the opportunity to earn my Masters for FREE!! So... here we go... I'm starting a new job that's located 5 mins from Adam's work so that means we can carpool and we're both starting up school again. Life is going to be pretty busy/interesting for a while.

Yeah, so while I'm working on my Masters, Adam will be taking ACSC... Air Command and Staff College. It's a requirement to make O5 - Lt Col... so we figured we might as while take classes at the same time and then we'll both stay motivated.

We finished painting the house. After we clean it up, I'll take pictures and post them for you. Basically, the house is a sand color, with the office painted a brick red, the guest room a light sage green, and our bedrooom a battleship gray. Oh, and the living room has a brick red accent wall. The colors sound weird, but they look great! I've also started gardening. I've got some African Marigolds, Petunias, and regular Marigolds going. The regular Marigolds aren't growing like I thought they would... but it is AZ. =) Adam's got the grass, oleanders, and trees pretty trimmed up and the front yard bushes are trimmed up, also. Our house is starting to look like a home! Can you believe it?

Well, that's about it on this end. Cicada is still retarded... we've found we're in an odd situation with her allergies. Everything is blooming so she's rashy and red... but now she's throwing up her claritin. Basically we just have to leave her itchy and hope it doesn't get too bad. We'll see.
