OMG!! This weekend had so much stuff packed into it I don't even know what to tell you!!
We knew yesterday was going to be busy, but OMG!!! Okay, so we knew that in the morning we were going to have to take my car for an oil change and get my breaks checked. Then, at noon, our friends were throwing a party for their little girl's 1st bday. It was really cute seeing the kids (and my big kid/husband) playing in the water and everything. Plus it was a rare chance to see some friends who I don't get to see very often.
Then we had the Kenny Chesney concert. A group of us met up and really just acted-a-fool at this concert. We had good seats, a lot of beer, and lots of people-watching entertainment. =) Afterwards, we went over to a friend's house for drinks and 80s trivia (yeah... I suck at that btw) and got home around 2:30am. I only tell you this because as we're pulling up to the house, we notice that the street lamp in front of the house was out and Adam jokes about how there's probably someone in our house waiting to kill us in the dark. We go into the house and Adam goes to let the dog out and as I'm walking back to the bedroom I hear running water coming from the master bath... like someone's taking a shower or something. I'm all tense and ready to go grab the gun (because now I'm thinking there's a murderer taking a shower in our house... I know that sounds stupid... but Adam made that joke) and then I start towards the bathroom and my feet start squishing IN THE BEDROOM!! Our bedroom has about 2 freaking inches of water in it!!! I run to the toilet and turn off the water and just start yelling for Adam. Adam comes running back there thinking I'm getting murdered (because of his joke) and runs right into the swamp that is now our bedroom. Long story short (sort of), Adam starts scooping water out of the bathroom and I call professionals to come pump out our bedroom. Here we are, drunk but quickly sobering up at 3am, moving all of our bedroom furniture outside and wringing out clothes that had been on the floor. The professional dude got here at like 4am, pumped out all the water, set up a dehumidifier and a crap load of fans, and said he'd be back on Monday. We moved into the guest room and now our house looks like a refugee camp with our bedroom stuff all over the house!
The guy says it'll take anywhere from a couple days to a couple weeks to fix, depending on whether or not the walls soaked up any water, which we won't know until Monday. Apparently the supply hose that goes from the wall to the toilet cracked and that's why there was so much water everywhere. He was saying that those things can dump 1500 gallons of water an hour and he guessed ours had been running for about an hour or two. Craziness....
Anyway, that's our 26 hour day yesterday. I'm running off 4 hours of sleep and have a paper to write still. YAY!! =) Gotta love being an adult...
